Question: (From email address: nguyenquangtrung206@gmail.com)
The idle speed valve of a FORD car close and open normally but I can not set the idle speed mode, can DTDAuto help me?
Answer:  First of all, please tell me how can you know the valve open/close normally? If you only disconnect the connector, supply a 12V power and see the valve open/close normally, it shows that the mechanical condition of the valve is good (not stuck and the solenoid is still in good condition), the valve of the vehicle operates normal or abnormal can say nothing. As you know that, the adjustment of the idle speed depending on the adjustment of mass air intake. The adjustment of the width of idle speed valve on modern vehicles is using ECU with a continuous range from the open percentage from 0% to 100% rely on working status at the current time of engine through the control by pulse width. In other hand, ECU based on the information from many sensors to determine the opening angle of the valve to match the best

Therefore, the faults may due to:
- Mechanical factors of the valve.
- Open/short of output wire for valve control
- Short of power transistor for valve control inside ECU
- Faults of input sensor signals as THW, THA, STA…
- Faults inside ECU
- Other factors as:
     + Spark plug poor
     + Ignition timing advance wrong
+ Leakage at the intake manifold
+ Mechanical stuck of EGR valve
+ Mechanical leakage of throttle valve at close state
So, you should check it carefully.
